-A simple hack for inner peace
In 1936, Bertie (Queen Elizabeth’s father) had to rule the country after his brother unexpectedly renounced the throne.
Besides being completely unprepared for the role, he grappled with another major obstacle: his stammer.
Someone who usually maintained a low profile to save embarrassment, now had to confront public speaking and rule the country just before World War II.
Since this personal matter now extended to the national interest, he had no choice but to overcome his speech impediment.
Fortunately, with his spouse's support and a speech therapist's help, he rose to the challenge and improved his speaking ability significantly.
Overcoming his stammer, he addressed the nation during the war with a powerful speech as King George VI. This remarkable journey was later turned into the movie- The King’s Speech.
Bertie would never have been able to reach this stage without accepting his condition, being vulnerable, and putting himself in positions where he could be hurt.
In a world that celebrates strength, vulnerability is often associated with weakness. As a consequence, we put on masks and facades deceiving ourselves and others.
What we fail to see is that lowering our guard and accepting personal flaws is a real sign of strength, and courage and carves the path for building meaningful connection.
Acknowledging your fears and weaknesses with people you can trust can become your greatest strength.

So much of stress is created in the mind.
We spend our days bickering about how people mess things up, ruminating over past mistakes and caring too much about what others think.
