Conquering triggers and creating calm
What’s in store today:
-3 ways to handle your triggers
-How to get great at life
-The importance of blank space
Conversations are like car rides.
Without direction and a clear intention, they can easily wander off course.
This is especially true when emotions run high and impulsive reactions take over.
A perfectly normal conversation can turn into a messy argument, leaving people scrambling for who said what.

You can’t control what people say, but you can always control how you react (did you now know that was an option?)
Here are three ways to deal with triggers and unappreciated comments:
Pause: Most of us are quick to react and attack when something condescending is thrown our way. Rightly so. The animal instinct in us takes over to protect. But pausing for a few seconds puts you back in a position of power because you’re not giving them the reaction they want. Not to forget it helps you to get your thoughts together too.
Keep it calm: Adopting an aggressive tone only makes things worse. It creates more conflict and misunderstandings which feel harder to clear in the moment of intensity. Being neutral, as hard as it may seem, opens room for better listening and clarifying anything that may have been said unintentionally.
Use questions as a comeback: Talking back is for kids. Adulting is about maturity and this is why asking questions instead of aggressively talking back challenges people to a whole new level. Most of the time they don’t anticipate being given the opportunity to reflect for themselves.
Being conscious and a bit more intentional will get your hands back over the steering wheel and help you stay right on course.
How to get great at life
Life is not about being on a high all the time and avoiding difficult moments.
it’s about managing these moments in the right way by gaining control over our emotional experiences.
But no one ever taught us this key skill.
So I put together this toolkit, where you’ll get a grip over your emotions and move closer towards self-mastery.

The importance of blank space
Modern-day existence has made us like buzzing bees.
We wake to the demands of the digital world, diving into a relentless marathon of notifications and tasks.
Even as night falls, our thoughts race, denying us the tranquility of sleep.
Peace is not something that occurs by chance, it needs to be earned by intentionally setting blank spaces.
These are moments where you choose to do absolutely nothing, like:
Waking up and just being instead of reaching out for your device
Taking time to pause and ponder a thought-provoking idea
Shutting the eyes and just focusing on a few cycles of inhales and exhales.
Life is overwhelming enough to add more chaos to it.
These tiny and seemingly insignificant acts can do a lot to bring us back to our center.
